Meet Janelle – CEO, Swinburne Childrens Centre Inc.
My name is Janelle Williamson and I am Chief Executive Officer at Lilydale Community Childcare Inc.
I have been involved in child education for over 25 years, initially as a primary school teacher before making the move to early childhood education in 1992. I have worked as an educator, kindergarten teacher and for the past 17 years in a senior management capacity. I was the owner operator of a large, reputable early childhood centre and kindergarten for 5 years before moving to Swinburne Children’s Centre at Lilydale in 2004. In 2009 I was employed to oversee the coordination of our 3 centres before taking up the position of CEO in late 2013.
Meet Liz – Childrens Services Manager
My name is Liz Paterson, and in 2018 I am delighted to be taking on a brand new role as Childrens Services Manager across all 3 of our services. I joined the Swinburne team as a Certificate III trained educator nine years ago, and what an enjoyable journey it has been thus far! I have been very fortunate to have undertaken an array of professional roles throughout this time and I have met and worked in partnership with many wonderful educators and families.
Meet Amanda – View Street Centre Manager
My name is Amanda Brown and I am thrilled to be stepping into the Centre Manager role at our View St Centre in 2018. Working at Swinburne Childrens Centre has renewed my passion for early childhood. It’s wonderful to work with people whose love for their work and the children in their care shines through in the quality of the programs offered, and in the interactions with the children throughout the day.
Meet Leah – Wantirna Centre Manager
Hi my name is Leah and I am the Centre Manger of the Wantirna Campus. I have been working in the early learning environment for 8 years, and have now been with Swinburne Children’s Centre for 5 years. I am Diploma qualified, and am currently into second year of studying my Bachelor of Early Childhood Education.
Meet Belinda – Marketing Manager
My name is Belinda Wilson and I am the Marketing Manager for Swinburne Children’s Centre. I was thrilled to join the team at Swinburne Children’s Centre in February 2016 and bring a career of many strengths to my role including Marketing/Communications, Banking, Social Enterprise and Business Owner.
Meet Samantha – Manager
My Name is Samantha Bywater, and I have been employed by Swinburne Children’s Centre for the past 13 years. In 2017, I’m very excited to be undertaking a new position. My new role will be mentoring our educators to embed the “Taxi Dog” program into our pedagogical documentation. Taxi Dog is a wellbeing educational program which enables young learner’s social and emotional skills, including self-regulation and empathy development.
Meet William – Croydon- Centre Manager
My name is William Simpson and I am the Centre Manager for Swinburne Children’s Centre, Croydon.I’ve been very privileged to have worked in the Early Childhood Education sector for the past 7 years. I have undertaken a wide plethora of roles starting as a casual educator and engaging my professional abilities and experience in a room education and care setting, educational leadership and curriculum coordinator role, workplace health and safety roles and over the past 3 years, senior management roles including area management of services and individual service based management. I am thrilled to be joining the team here at Croydon and look forward to working with the educators to continue to provide high quality education and care to our children and families that is responsive to industry changes and the needs of our families.I view the children as strong and important individuals who should only be made to feel proud of who they are and what they can and have achieved. I celebrate diversity and advocate for the provision of care for children from all walks of life. It is my vision to see early childhood education and care continue to be an integral part of a child’s first 5 years of life and I aim to create a loving, rounded and holistic environment here at Swinburne Children’s Centre.
